The 2024 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards will happen on Saturday night in Los Angeles. It’s the first time the event will be shown live on Netflix.
The SAG Awards celebrate great performances in movies and TV shows. Members of SAG-AFTRA vote to choose the winners. This year’s event promises to have exciting presenters and special moments.
Last year, there was a long strike by actors in Hollywood, which happened at the same time as a writers’ strike. These SAG Awards are the first big awards show since then, and they’re also the last one before the Oscars next month.

Here are some highlights:
- On TV, the show “Succession” got the most nominations with five.
- Other popular shows like “The Morning Show” and “Ted Lasso” also got nominated, along with the Netflix series “Beef.”
- In movies, “Barbenheimer” was the big focus, with both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” getting four nominations each.
The presenters for the show include famous names like Idris Elba, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt. There’s even a mini-reunion from the movie “The Devil Wears Prada.”
There will be special moments too, like honoring stars we lost last year and giving a big award to Barbra Streisand.
You can watch the SAG Awards live on Netflix for the first time, starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Saturday, February 24. Before that, there will be a pre-show and red carpet hosted by Tan France from “Queer Eye” and fashion editor Elaine Welteroth, streaming on Netflix, YouTube, and TikTok at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
