John Buchanan, the sibling of the late Slick Rick Buchanan, shared the chilling moment he stumbled upon the horrifying sight, initially mistaking it for a simple case of cold weather. In an interview with local Fox affiliate WHBQ-TV, John revealed his distressing realization and immediate call to the police upon understanding the severity of his brother’s situation.
The distressing incident unfolded after John received a call from Slick Rick’s neighbor, prompting him to rush to his brother’s residence. Upon arrival, he encountered peculiar signs, such as the back door left ajar and Slick Rick’s dog, Lucky, unattended in the yard. John described the eerie scene with his brother’s keys still in hand, pants pulled down to his feet, and the back door wide open.
Memphis police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Buchanan’s tragic death.
Tributes have poured in for the popular DJ, known for his performances in various Memphis bars, including the family-owned venue, The Stage Stop.
