Cure Auto Insurance Mission
Cure Auto believes everyone should have car insurance that’s priced fairly and mostly depends on how good of a driver you are. Our goal is not just to make this happen but also to help people understand it better. Because we’re a not-for-profit organization, we can keep providing affordable car insurance to drivers who act responsibly.
Cure Auto Insurance History
In the 1980s, car insurance companies were hesitant to offer coverage because it wasn’t very profitable and there were a lot of rules to follow. To tackle this problem, Citizens United Reciprocal Exchange (CURE) was created as a way to fix the struggling car insurance industry.

Cure Car Insurance Discounts
Although CURE car insurance is a back-to-basics provider, the company does offer a few competitive discounts. You may want to check with an insurance provider to ensure that each of these discounts is available in your state and double check that you’re eligible.
- Three-year good driver discount: According to CURE’s online quote system, if all the drivers on your policy have been driving for at least three years, you may qualify for up to a 35 percent discount. This could apply to new policies, too, provided that everyone on the policy has a clean driving record for a minimum of three years before the date of application.
- Multi-vehicle discount: CURE offers customers a discount if they insure multiple cars under one vehicle policy rather than having a separate policy for each.
- Parking discount: CURE offers a discount for comprehensive and collision coverage policyholders who park in a driveway or garage rather than on the street.
- Good student: CURE offers a discount to qualifying students who maintain high grades. Contact an insurance agent to learn more.
- Low mileage: You may earn a discount with CURE if you only drive your car occasionally. This may save money for drivers who do not commute daily to work.
Cure Comparison With Other Auto Insurers
CURE vs. State Farm
Through the years, State Farm has clinched Bankrate Awards for auto, home, and life insurance. This achievement is credited to their top-notch customer service, approachable agents, user-friendly policy tools, and competitive premiums. If you’re into consolidating your financial affairs, you might like the fact that State Farm goes beyond just insurance – they also offer banking and investment services. In contrast, CURE focuses solely on car insurance. If you’re on the lookout for a widely recognized provider with flexible coverage choices and robust digital tools, State Farm could be the right pick for you.
CURE vs. USAA
USAA provides insurance exclusively for U.S. military members, veterans, and eligible family members. Similar to Lemonade and State Farm, USAA offers a wide variety of products, including banking and retirement savings, making it a convenient one-stop shopping experience compared to CURE. They also have several benefits for policyholders, like discounts from companies such as Hertz and FedEx. If you’re in search of an affordable company designed to meet military needs, USAA could be a great option for you.
CURE vs. Lemonade
If you’re in search of a company that’s tech-savvy and has a user-friendly online platform, consider checking out Lemonade – an all-digital insurance provider. Lemonade covers renters, homeowners, pets, term life, and auto insurance, offering savings if you bundle multiple policies. Unlike CURE Insurance, Lemonade has a top-rated mobile app and boasts almost instant claim payouts. Moreover, Lemonade operates in more states than CURE and is actively working to broaden its coverage throughout the U.S.
Cure Auto Insurance Reviews & Customer Satisfaction Rate
When Bankrate’s insurance editorial team evaluates insurance companies, they rely on third-party ratings or scores to gauge performance in various areas. Reliable sources for these ratings include J.D. Power, AM Best, and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
J.D. Power assesses companies by measuring customer satisfaction with their claims process and overall service. However, J.D. Power typically focuses on larger companies with significant market share. As CURE is a relatively small regional insurer, it doesn’t have ratings in J.D. Power’s 2022 or 2023 customer satisfaction study.
AM Best provides financial strength ratings, reflecting a company’s historical ability to meet financial obligations. CURE has not yet received a rating from AM Best. To get a better sense of customer and claims experiences, prospective customers may find it helpful to speak with existing policyholders.
