International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup Tickets

Big news for Cricket fans in North Jersey! While excitement brews for the Men’s Soccer World Cup coming to our area in 2026, there’s another thrilling tournament just around the corner.

The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is set for June, featuring matches in the Caribbean and, for the first time ever, in the United States. Among the 55 matches, eight will be hosted at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, currently under construction. The finals will be held in Barbados on June 29.

Twenty teams will compete in this month-long event, showcasing cricket, the world’s second most popular sport with an estimated 2.5 billion fans globally, according to the 2023 World Atlas.

Contenders include reigning champion England, runner-up Pakistan, along with cricket giants Australia, India, and New Zealand. Host nations USA and West Indies will also participate.

Tickets for the Cricket World Cup 2024 are set to go on sale this Thursday. The first batch was sold via a public ballot system from Feb. 1-7, with lucky applicants chosen randomly and notified by email. Remaining tickets will be available to the public starting Thursday.

Local cricket enthusiast Sriram Vedantha Ramanujam from Glen Rock is eager to snag tickets, particularly for the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match on June 9. Prices range from $175 for standard seats to $400 for premium spots.

The 34,000-seat Nassau stadium is slated for completion in May, just in time for the tournament.

Ramanujam hopes the World Cup will elevate cricket’s popularity in the U.S. and encourage more cricket field development in the tristate area.

Afzal Hussain from Paterson shares the excitement. He helped establish the New Jersey Royals Premier Cricket League and sees the T20 World Cup as a golden opportunity to introduce international cricket to American soil.

Hussain eagerly awaits news on tickets for matches like Bangladesh vs. South Africa and the high-profile India vs. Pakistan clash. He dreams of witnessing cricket legends like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in action right before his eyes.

With such anticipation building, the T20 World Cup promises to be a game-changer for cricket enthusiasts across North Jersey and beyond.
